10 Surprising Health Benefits of Sex

0 nhận xét

The health benefits of sex extend well beyond the bedroom. Turns out sex is good for you in ways you may never have imagined

When you're in the mood, it's a sure bet that the last thing on your mind is boosting your immune system or maintaining a healthy weight. Yet good sex offers those health benefits and more.

That's a surprise to many people, says Joy Davidson, PhD, a New York psychologist and sex therapist. "Of course, sex is everywhere in the media," she says. "But the idea that we are vital, sexual creatures is still looked at in some cases with disgust or in other cases a bit of embarrassment. So to really take a look at how our sexuality adds to our life and enhances our life and our health, both physical and psychological, is eye-opening for many people."
Sex does a body good in a number of ways, according to Davidson and other experts. The benefits aren't just anecdotal or hearsay -- each of these 10 health benefits of sex is backed by scientific scrutiny.

Among the benefits of healthy loving in a relationship:

1. Sex Relieves Stress

A big health benefit of sex is lower blood pressure and overall stress reduction, according to researchers from Scotland who reported their findings in the journalBiological Psychology. They studied 24 women and 22 men who kept records of their sexual activity. Then the researchers subjected them to stressful situations -- such as speaking in public and doing verbal arithmetic -- and noted their blood pressure response to stress.

Those who had intercourse had better responses to stress than those who engaged in other sexual behaviors or abstained.

Another study published in the same journal found that frequent intercourse was associated with lower diastolic blood pressure in cohabiting participants. Yet other research found a link between partner hugs and lower blood pressure in women.

2. Sex Boosts Immunity

Good sexual health may mean better physical health. Having sex once or twice a week has been linked with higher levels of an antibody called immunoglobulin A or IgA, which can protect you from getting colds and other infections. Scientists at Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pa., took samples of saliva, which contain IgA, from 112 college students who reported the frequency of sex they had.

Some Super Foods That You Should Be Consuming Now

Super foods can best be defined as foods that contain additional health benefits and can easily be adding to your diet.
Fat-free plain and low fat yogurt is the first super food on the list because this super food is full of calcium and also offers more calcium than other dairy products. There is also more protein and potassium in this type of yogurt and you can easily add granola and fresh fruit for some added benefits. People that are lactose intolerant can still have yogurt even though they are unable to digest other milk products. Eggs are another super food that you should add to your diet because of the fact that they contain twelve minerals and vitamins that are beneficial for memory and brain development.

How our skin look is important to many of us. At the same time, your skin are organs that do special jobs that support life. Skin protects your inside organs from injury,
bacteria, and viruses. Your skin, hair, and sweat glands help control body temperature. You can take steps to keep your skin  healthy. You can also look to your skin for clues to your overall health. And, as a bonus, good skin care will help you to feel your best, too.
Follow this simple skin care routine to keep your skin healthy and radiant:

+ Bathe in warm—not hot—water using mild cleansers that don’t irritate. Wash gently—don’t scrub.
+ Keep skin from drying out by drinking plenty of water and using gentle moisturizers, lotions, or creams.

Some simple things you must stop doing now!

If you are going to get and stay as healthy, then first and foremost it would be important to reduce your exposure to substances and activities that have a negative impact on your health.
To get you started here are tens habits the majority of people are engaged in, on some regular basis, that are easy to implement almost immediately.
1. Filter your drinking water:
It is very important that the water you drink is clean.  Do not waste money buying water (cost you up to $8 per gallon) as there are no regulations on water and for all you know you could be buying tap water or worse.  Secondarily most of it is sold in plastic bottles which contain many toxic chemicals that leach in to the water.  Of particular concern are BPAs (bisphenol-a) which are estrogen like and feminizing and have proven to cause a host of health problems.
If you want more detailed information on this subject you can go to Mercola, and search for BPA, plastics, or water and get all the information and then some you would ever need on this subject.  You can also get great information from Jon Barron, Julian Whitaker, M.D., William Douglass, M.D., or Dr. Sears, M.D. sites.  If I don't have a link, you can just goggle them to find their site.  I would recommend you check them all out as I believe they all have good information on natural health issues.

Healthy Foods A-Z: Choosing a advice.

1 nhận xét
Eating living foods, foods closest to nature, has become the buzz word of health conscious people. We are looking in the organic sections of the grocery, going out  of our way to find whole food sources, and finding tasty treasures at local farmers markets. We want to spend wisely and get the best food for our money, because buying healthily is not cheap. There are so many foods out there...one article I read suggested that we are "exposed to 30,000 products and choices each time we visit a grocery store!
Now obviously a lot of those choices are not healthy...tempting, but not healthy.....so what can we buy that will be delicious, nutritious and beneficial?
Each of the following foods fits that criterion, and just as easily fits into a healthy diet.
So here's a list roughly covering the alphabet from A to (almost) Z
1. Avocados.....rich in folic acid/vitamin B (stimulates red blood cell production, lowers heart attack and stroke), beta carotene (strengthens the immune system), magnesium (regulates blood pressure), and monosaturated fat (helps lower LDL/bad cholesterol).

Live healthy.
